Happy New Year!  We pray that you enter 2022 with hope.

…and hope does not disappoint us,
because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

-Romans 5:5

We hope to provide a source of encouragement below in several ways, including words of hope and resources that might be helpful.

The WNC Leadership Development Team is offering grants for spiritual renewal. There are a variety of ways that you could choose to intentionally seek the presence of God.  Check them out! Details and Application

We continue to encourage you to gather with colleagues as COVID allows for support and encouragement.  There are resources and incentives HERE.

Check out this new resource developed by WNC and NC clergy to help leaders navigate the uncertainty in 2022, particularly within the denomination.  Running through February 27, this resource is free, underwritten by the WNC Leadership Development Team, and offers lectionary-based preaching/worship resources as well as ideas for having holy conversations.

ANTIRACISM ETHICS TRAINING
The quadrennial mandatory antiracism training continues this spring.  Spaces will be limited as we move forward so don’t put off participating.  There are some Saturday-Saturday options, especially created for part-time local pastors and laity. Because of minimal registrations, some of the online options are being consolidated.  If there is an in-person training in your district, you are encouraged to attend this spring.  While the trainings will continue to be offered into 2024, not everyone can wait until the last minute to participate.

We are here to resource you and to provide support and encouragement in order for you to develop your leadership capacity.  As you review your Assess UMC conversations with your S/PPR committees, or review your BELI plan, or face an adaptive challenge, let us know what you need!  We’d love to connect you to others in similar circumstances so that you can learn and grow together.
