Ways to Celebrate Martin Luther King Day Under Covid
A wonderful piece from United Methodist Communications on making the most of Martin Luther King Day for your congregation this year while navigating the seemingly never-ending changes of Covid-19.
Stories of Us
This year marks the beginning of a new series on our website, Stories of Us! Highlighting each of the Blue Ridge District congregations one at a time, we hope to build a sense of family within our district and open doors for more engagement between Churches.
Haywood St. Congregation in Downtown Asheville is the first in our series, and we are excited to share their story, what they've been up to, and what they're looking forward to!

Winter Leadership Training Webinar Series
Most years in January, our district offers a training event for leaders to help strengthen and equip you as you evolve and take on new roles in your local church. Like most events this year, we have felt the need to transition this training into an online event as have other districts in our conference.
Because of this, rather than hosting in-person events in each district, we will offer a series of Conference-wide training webinars during the week of January 10-14 to resource and equip all areas of your Church leadership.
For more information including registration and schedules, please visit https://www.wnccumc.org/newsdetail/winter-leadership-training-webinar-series-14811696
Advisory Forms
Advisory forms were mailed November 12th. If pastors or their 2020 S/PPRC Chairs did not receive the form and letter, please contact Ruth Kapely at rkapely@wnccumc.org. Church and Clergy Profiles must be completed by January 6, 2021.
Apportionments
The final day for 2020 Apportionments to be received for 2020 credit is Wednesday, January 6, 2021 by 3 pm. Apportionments must be in by then, not postmarked and dated to come.
Covid-19 Update for Local Churches
Bishop Leeland and Cabinet urge pastors and church leaders to use the COVID-19 Alert System to monitor their county and reconsider their decision to hold indoor worship, particularly if their county is “red." All local churches are asked to use extreme caution in response to the recent rapid spread of the virus. We thank the United Methodists across Western North Carolina for “loving their neighbor” by doing all that they can do to limit the spread of COVID-19. View Guidelines Here
